Vivace International School of Music

​

Music study requires close attention in class, diligent practice at home, and students should be motivated and self-disciplined. Practice is not optional. It is required. Students take all the credit and responsibility for their progress. Both students and teachers commit themselves to learn and teach through one-on-one lessons. Students who are admitted to Vivace International School of Music should realize that they are benefiting from many years of teaching and world-class performing experiences of Vivace faculty as well as their unconditional dedication to the art of music.

 

Note to Parents

Parents or guardians of beginner students of 12 years old or younger are required to attend classes. Music study requires practice from students and devotion from parents. Parents of young beginners need to pay attention and take notes during lessons as you should be your children’s tutors at home. Parents should be involved closely in your children’s music study. Making music important to you will affect your children’s attitude towards music. It motivates them tremendously if you listen and study music with them together and offer positive encouragement to them. You also need to create an environment at home that is free from distractions for their music practice. By spending time and creating a nurturing environment for your children, you will be impressed at how much they will be able to learn and grow as a musician. 

 

Authority

All management related matters including scheduling, cancellations, withdrawals, etc. must be addressed directly to Vivace managers and not to individual teachers.

 

Photo & Video Release

During your children’s study with Vivace International School of Music, their images/ photographs/ videos could be used for various promotional or educational purposes by Vivace International School of Music. Your children’s name may be used with these materials. You are giving permission to Vivace International School of Music to use any images/ photographs/ videos and are willing to release them into the public domain. You understand that no monetary compensation will be given for the use of the materials.


Tuition and Fee

  • The audition fee is $45 for 30 minutes session.

  • The registration fee is $45 (charging after the audition).

  • Vivace Advanced Program (VAP) and Vivace Artist Advanced Program (VAAP) Tuition: Audition based. Qualified students only. Tuition packages various.

  • Students need to pay a $25 reactive fee if their temporary leave is more than 42 days. And their current regular schedule won't be reserved. Please contact admin@VivaceMusic.org with the student's full name 15 days before their return date to discuss their new regular schedule.

  • If students' leave is more than 3 months, their accounts will be closed, please click on https://www.vivacemusic.org/register to complete the registration again.

  • Tuition needs to be paid a month in advance and it is charged automatically 7 days before due day (the first day of each month), a $25.00 late fee will be charged if tuition is 5 days overdue. Please send an email to mchen@vivacemusic.org, if you have any questions about payments and fees


Withdrawal

  • Withdrawal requires a 30-day notice in advance and the completion of the withdrawal form. Any withdrawal without the required notice and the completed withdrawal form will incur a forfeiture of the remaining tuition and a $35.00 drop fee. 

 

Attendance and Tardy

  • Students/ Parents are expected to plan their lessons in advance. There will be no refund and no rescheduling if you notify us of absence less than 72 hours prior to your lesson, except in the case of an emergency. 

  • Students are expected to attend their lessons on time. The lesson will be adjourned according to schedule no matter when it starts.

Rescheduling

  • If students need to reschedule a lesson for any reason, parents are required to fill up the absence form at https://www.VivaceMusic.org/absence no later than 72 hours in advance. 

 

Cancellation

  • During a semester, THREE cancellations and prorations can be applied for emergencies and lessons that cannot be rescheduled. There will be NO makeup and NO refund for any absence after three cancellations are applied in a semester.

  • Cancellations and prorations for national holidays, winter, spring, and summer breaks are not included in the three cancellations that are referred above.

Substitution

  • Vivace Music faculty are professional musicians and will occasionally have a schedule conflict with their performance/rehearsal. Their lessons will be either rescheduled based on the availability of teachers or substituted by other Vivace faculty.

Holidays and Breaks

  • Vivace is open as usual during holidays and breaks. Students are expected to attend all lessons as their regular schedule unless they or their instructors notify us that they will take a break.

  • Please pay attention to Vivace’s Holiday Schedule. If your children decide to take a break during holidays and breaks, please notify us at least 15 days in advance of the dates on which they will be absent. Their lessons will be canceled and proration will be applied as long as these absences are aligned with Vivace’s holiday and break period.

  • Thanksgiving: 11/20/2023-11/26/2023

  • Christmas and Winter Break: 12/18/2023-01/01/2024

  • Spring Break: 3/11/2024-3/17/2024

  • Summer Break: 06/01/2024-07/31/2024

School Policies are updated each semester. Vivace International School of Music reserves the right to final interpretation of the policy.
