Guochen Liu
Guochen Liu is a pianist and educator with an active performance and teaching career. Her work as a performer includes solo, chamber, and collaborative performances across the United States and internationally, with appearances in university recital series, invited concerts, and community and charity performances.
She is currently completing the Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance with a related field in Piano Pedagogy at the University of North Texas. She holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Xinghai Conservatory of Music.
An experienced collaborative pianist, Guochen has worked extensively with vocalists and instrumentalists in lessons, masterclasses, competitions, and concert performances. Her artistic activities include collaborations with musicians in a wide range of repertoire, contributing to a broad and versatile musical perspective.
Guochen is the recipient of several international competition awards, including First Prize at the IAC International Piano Competition and the Liszt Memorial Prize at the Hong Kong International Piano Open Competition, among other honors.
With several years of teaching experience, Guochen has worked with students of diverse ages and levels in private studios, academies, and university-affiliated programs. She regularly prepares students for piano examinations and competitions and supports them in building strong performance skills. Each year, she organizes multiple student recitals to provide performance opportunities and help students gain stage experience and confidence. Her teaching focuses on combining solid technical training with practical performance preparation, guiding students toward steady musical and artistic development.
