Wei Wang was born in China and began studying piano at the age of seven. At nine, she entered the elementary school of Beijing Art School, where she studied with Professor Huang Meiying. At twelve, she was admitted to the Affiliated Secondary School of Music of Xinghai Conservatory of Music, where she majored in piano and composition.
She was later admitted to the Piano Department of Xinghai Conservatory of Music, studying under Professor Leng Jia and Professor Zhu Mei. She continued her musical journey at the School of Music at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom, where she pursued a master's degree in piano performance. During her studies in the UK, she focused on classical piano performance and the analysis of Baroque piano works under Professor Ian Buckle, Professor Clive Brown, and Dr. Mike Allis.
She won First Prize in the Royal Musical Association Chamber Music Competition and successfully presented chamber music and solo concerts at Leeds Town Hall and Clothworkers' Centenary Concert Hall. She was also sponsored by the university to attend the Edvard Grieg master class in France. In 2022, she earned her second master's degree, in education, from the University of Houston.
Wei has devoted herself enthusiastically to piano education. She has received several teaching honors, including the "Excellent Piano Instructor Award" issued by the Hong Kong International Piano Competition. Many of her students have been accepted into music conservatories, received awards in competitions, and passed the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music examinations with Distinction.
Ms. Wei Wang joined the piano faculty of Vivace International School of Music in 2022 and teaches at both the Vivace Katy and Vivace Houston campuses. She is also an accomplished collaborative pianist, offering Vivace Rehearsal Lessons for string and wind students, as well as the Vivace Ear Training & Music Theory Program for students of all instruments. Through these programs, she helps students prepare for competitions, exams, auditions, recordings, and recitals.
