Alisiya Boiko

Piano Faculty

Alisiya Boiko is a senior piano performance major at the University of Houston under the guidance of Dr. Tali Morgulis. Born in the Ukraine, Alisiya has started her music journey at the age of 3. She has studied with numerous distinguished teachers in the Ukraine and in Poland, where she moved in order to attend the prestigious Karol Szymanowski State Music School in Warsaw. Her studies were sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of Poland for 5 years. Alisiya first appeared as a soloist with Dnipropetrovsk Philharmonic Symphony orchestra at the age of 9. In recent years, Alisiya has performed in a variety of venues throughout USA, Poland, Ukraine, Germany, Russia, and Lithuania. A participant in several international competitions and festivals, Alisiya was awarded top prizes in Anton Rubinstein International Competition (Russia), Berlin International Music Competition (Germany), International Piano Competition "The Young Virtuoso" (Poland) and others. In November of 2019 she performed with the Moores School Symphony Orchestra as a Piano division winner of Moores School of Music Concerto Competition.

In addition to her solo performances, Alisiya is an avid chamber music collaborator, and has performed with several Houston leading musicians. She is currently a member of the Moores School Jazz Orchestra, and previously was a member of internationally acclaimed Moores School Concert Chorale choir. Alisiya’s piano repertoire ranges from Baroque, Classical, through Romantic, 20th century, as well as jazz and pop music.

Alisiya’s teaching philosophy bases on sharing the passion of music and helping students explore their interests in different genres and styles. She will guide a student in becoming a skillful musician, who can truly enjoy the music-making process!
